Long Lasting Results Achieved with Anodised Aluminium
As part of our material capabilities, Finish Architectural works with anodised aluminium to produce bespoke furnishing products. Our anodised aluminium provides integrated corrosion protection while meeting your aesthetic goals.
These long-lasting results are perfect for outdoor environments, with no peeling or chipping of the anodised finish – delivering low maintenance, high impact pieces for your property.
With over 30 years of operation, Finish Architectural has extensive experience handling anodised aluminium and can deliver high quality products to your unique specifications.
What is Aluminium Anodising?
Anodising (or anodizing) is an electrolytic process which produces an integrated protective coat on aluminium.
This is achieved through an electrolyte bath. An aluminium piece is placed in the bath solution alongside a cathode. When an electric current is passed through the solution containing the cathode and the anode (the aluminium), the positive and negative ions in the solution will be mobilised. This means the positive ions will leave the aluminium part and negative O2 ions will be attracted to it.
The negative O2 ions on the aluminium creates a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide surface layer – also known as an anodised finish.
What is Anodising Used For?
Anodising enhances a metal’s durability in corrosive environments, as well as improving the strength and the appearance of the material.
Finish Architectural uses anodised aluminium for indoor and outdoor furnishing products, across private, public and commercial buildings. We specialise in:
- Housing developments
- Apartment complexes
- Educational facilities
- Public buildings
- Office buildings
- Healthcare
- Leisure
- Retail
Our expert team can be involved at all stages of your project, from new builds to renovation work.
What Colour Anodising options are Available?
Due to the porous nature of an anodised finish, anodised aluminium can take on various colours and tones.
Finish Architectural offers a full range of anodising aluminium colour finishes, including Anolok finishes and bespoke colours conforming to BS 3987.
Our Anolok finishes include: Natural Silver, Bronzes (light to dark), Regency Gold 1 & 2 and Black, as well as specialist Anolok anodising II Blue-Grey and Stone-Grey finishes.
Anolok finishes are developed during the anodising process, ensuring the colour is integrated as a part of the metal for a durable and highly aesthetic finish.
